Planet Snooker
was formed in June 2003,with a very clear objective
To
provide the players with a support in order that they
may progress in their own game.
This has
been achieved by providing a number of key areas of
development within the game on a regional basis, the
key ones being.
The setting
up of the first North
East Singles Premier League, designed
to provide the North East,s top players with the following
- WEEKLY COMPETITIVE MATCH PRACTISE
- INPROVED STANDARDS IN LOCAL AREA
- OPPORTUNITY TO WIN PRIZE MONEY
- KEY OPPORTUNITY BY FINISHING IN TOP 4 TO COMPETE
AGAINST WORLD PROFESSIONAL SNOOKER STARS SUCH AS
PETER EBDON, DING JUNHUI, , MATHEW STEPHENS &
JIMMY WHITE.
In addition
to the above Planet Snooker was very proud to have
been able to secure sponsorship for Gary Wilson at
age 19, Gary then went onto win the World Under 21,s,
and qualify for the main tour.
In addition
to this Planet Snooker were proud to also support
David Lilley, in his quest to win the World IBSF title,
once more Davis was so unlucky when he was beaten
at the Semi Final stage.
Planet Snooker
core activities in 2006 are now fully focused on developing
the League Structure, and are looking at a" CHAMPIONS
LEAGUE " format.
In addition
to this will continue to run a serious of exhibition
matched with the Top players in the Game
By pro-actively
managing change Planet Snooker will ensure the North
East players and the game is not only recognized but
sets the standards that will become the standard for
all to follow
